What a Bad CPC Looks Like
For comparison, here is an example with common problems highlighted:
Children's Product Certificate
Product: Toys
Standards: ASTM F963, Lead Free
Manufacturer: Yiwu Lucky Star Factory, Yiwu, China
Testing: Tested in China, 2024
Key Differences
The good example succeeds because:
- Every element is present and complete
- The product is identifiable — someone could match this certificate to the physical product
- Safety rules use official citations, not informal descriptions
- The U.S. importer is the certifier, not the foreign factory
- The lab is identified with full details including the CPSC-accepted lab number and phone
- Dates are specific, not vague
